playing catch-up

I am still surprised by how much work it seems to be to take a photograph every day. But I can say that I'm already looking forward to compiling all of these everyday snapshots into a book at the end of the year. It will be a visual diary of sorts. The journey continues.

living with photographs

I don't think I really need to keep introducing this weekly feature, so ...

sweet baby boy

I always suggest that parents get their newborn session done early ... like within the first 10 days of being home. And then I am always so proud of first time parents who follow that advice. I remember when my son was first born that I didn't get to the grocery store until he was almost six weeks old, so I am impressed that these first time parents got their act together, brought in their precious baby boy and looked absolutely fantastic themselves. Hmmm. Maybe 'impressed' is the wrong word - jealous would be better! This little guy was just short of two weeks old and mom and dad were so comfortable around him. I am just thrilled for this family.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow. James 1:17

living with photographs

Trying to make good on my word for keeping this a weekly feature of the blog. So, I'm back for another round of personal embarrassment. But hopefully, it will inspire you to live with your own photographs. This week I discuss photographs in your children's room and reference an article I found online. I'll include the link below. Roll the tape.

Here's the link to the article.

no comments?

Alright. The blog is ready for your comments. I haven't gotten any yet so I think that means one of two things:

1. No one is reading the blog.

or

2. You listened to your mother when she told you, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

So, if you are reading, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Let me know if I'm wasting my time or not. Thanks!

more peeks

Wow. I don't know about all of you, but I am so done with winter. Today's sunshine is perking me up just a bit. I will definitely have to get out for a walk today.

Just a few more snaps from my Project 366.

Calling All 2009 High School Seniors

R2 Seniors by Rebecca Redman Photography is looking for the next big thing…. Class of 2009 Models.

Who: You! If you are currently a Junior who loves to be photographed like a model, is outgoing and willing to promote R2 Seniors to your friends. Don't think you have to look like a runway model to be a R2 Model. I want seniors who are fun, energetic, fashion forward and excited for their senior year … and have lots of friends!

What: You’ll receive a complimentary mini-session this spring and the chance to earn a full senior session next fall. I’ll even throw in a video clip (like the one above) of your images from your mini-session to show off to all of your friends, put on MySpace, FaceBook, or blog. And how about a few images to use on your cell phone, Ipod, or as a screen saver? Cool, I know. You will also get your own featured gallery at R2 Seniors at my site, www.rebeccaredmanphotography.com. Oh, and don't forget the cash bonus for every qualifying senior you refer to R2 Seniors who completes a session with me!

How: Either email me at rsredman@umich.edu, or call me at 248-217-9379 and I will send you an application.

When: Applications must be returned by April 10th. I will review the applications and begin calling for interviews the following week. Interviews will be scheduled in late April/early May and one of your parents must be in attendance. You will need to be available for your mini-session during the last half of May.

Where: Your mini-session will take place at my home studio and/or location of your choice.

Why: Why not?!?

I am currently seeking models in the following schools:

Lake Orion High School
Clarkston High School
Rochester High School
Adams High School
Stoney Creek High School
Oakland Christian High School

but willing to consider a few more area schools.

the blog goes live!

Well, sort of. I've had this idea to take photographs of how I live with photographs in my own home and share them with you for inspiration. Photos of the foyer, the kitchen, living room, bedrooms ... you get the idea. Since my new groovy point and shoot has a video option, I thought I would take this idea to the next level. So, without any further adieux (and yes, I'm a geek and googled that phrase to make sure I spelled it correctly ... what did we do before the internet?!?) , and before I change my mind about posting this and showing my many flaws ...

Roll the tape!

Oh, and the blog is now set up to allow comments, so feel free to comment on this or any other post. I would love to hear from you.

And, please use the yellow box in the upper right hand corner to subscribe to the blog. It's really easy, just takes a few minutes, is free and you'll always be in the loop. Not to mention that you'll be the first to know about current promotions, contests and sneak peeks and my groovy videos.

quick update on Colgate Show the Love

Voting has closed!

Thanks for your support! We’re sending every participating hospital a Fun Center of their own.

Congratulations to Children’s Hospital of Michigan, which had the most votes and will receive an additional Fun Center.

We asked you to "Show the Love" by voting for a hospital to receive a Fun Center. The outpouring of support has been wonderful, and Colgate-Palmolive is awarding all nine participating hospitals a Fun Center!

Yay! Thanks to all who voted. The D has a big heart.

still snapping

More snapshots into my life. You can tell that the little miss and I hang out together a lot as she is in most of my photos, these days. I already have mixed feelings about her starting kindergarten next year and it's still six months away. Just feeling like I want to soak up every minute of her joy while I can. Of course, there are times where I can't stand one more second of her 'joy'ness and need a break, but overall I truly can't get enough of her. Okay, enough mommy talk. On with the photos. Lots of color ones this time probably due to the fact that it is grey enough outside these days. Come on, spring!
