my wonderful graffiti

So, if you remember one of my musings

Wonderful Graffiti

is a website with cool wall decor. I purchased a few things during their January Write Sale and have them proudly displayed. Here they are:

My family wall in the living room, notice the R monogram. I actually got a bit inventive here. I saw on their site some canvas items but didn't care for the monogram they offered on canvas. So, I ordered the monogram I liked and then applied it to a square canvas that I picked up from a craft store. I like to break up my photographs with other items and on this wall the monogram canvas and the clock do the trick. The big question ... does the R stand for Redman or Rebecca? Hmmm.

And these care labels have got to be one of my favorites! They just happened to fit perfectly under my cabinets once I decided to wrap the icons around each corner. I think they blend in nicely with the metal laundry sign and handprinted photo art by local artist Siouxsan Miller that I already had in the room. Actually makes the laundry a bit more fun as I smile when I see them. Now, can anyone tell me what the P icon means? I'm stumped.

I'm especially proud of the fact that I did all this by myself. I even had to get out a hammer and level for the laundry room.If you know how handy I am around the house, you know it is a big feat.

finally ... project 366

So, honestly, I have been taking photographs every day. I am just finding it difficult to upload and edit every day. So, here's the most recent ones and I hope to not fall so terribly far behind again. No theme, just snapshots.

vote for detroit children's hospital

In the United States, sickle cell anemia affects about 70,000 people. It mainly affects African Americans, with the condition occurring in about 1 in every 500 African American births. Colgate-Palmolive and Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation have teamed up this year to help children with Sickle Cell Disease and their families cope with the pain, fear and isolation of this terrible disease. By providing FUN CENTERS in hospitals, these children can forget about their illnesses for a moment and remember how to have fun.

We asked you to “Show the Love” by voting for a hospital to receive a Fun Center. The outpouring of support has been wonderful, and Colgate-Palmolive is awarding all nine participating hospitals a Fun Center! And now you can make an even bigger difference. Voting remains open through February 29, and the hospital that receives the most support will receive an additional Fun Center!

Vote NOW and each day through the end of February. Detroit is currently is first place, but only by .5 percent. It is very close! It's just a click of the mouse that could be a real benefit to children.

Isabelle Chase winter sale

I just received word from Isabelle Chase Studios of a special Winter Sale for the next 48 hours. Isabelle Chase Studios' photo jewelry line was created based on a simple philosophy -- that photo jewelry should be beautiful. Isabelle Chase Studios' success can be attributed to the fact that the designs in and of themselves stand out as elegant jewelry. Founder and designer, Lisa Frankel, brings a different sensibility to her designs than is normally seen in photo jewelry. Taking her 15 years' experience as a jewelry designer, she began applying it to her photo jewelry creations, turning them into personalized works of art. It is Lisa's philosophy that if the jewelry is designed and crafted using the highest quality materials so that it is beautiful on its own, from any angle, then adding your treasured photos will only elevate the appeal of the piece. It is this creative philosophy that explains why Isabelle Chase Studios' designs attract and are worn by even those who thought they would never wear photo jewelry. Lisa's insistence on using only high quality materials and her devotion to creating inspired designs have resulted in a unique line of photo jewelry that is second to none.

All 2007 clients are invited to order. The Winter Sale offers 15% off every piece of jewelry and I am passing that savings directly to you. Here are a few of my favorite pieces, with the Winter Sale pricing, including shipping. Please note, these images are taken directly from the ICS site and the photographs do not represent my own work.

what color are you?

I am very behind in posting my Project 366 images and hope to get to that this week. All these snow days and now vacation days are whittling away at my work time. I am working though. Behind the scenes I am designing a new website, expanding my senior grad photography marketing and loads more. I hope to share soon. In the meantime, just something to pass the time.

What color are you?

I am darkslateblue
Your dominant hue is blue, making you a good friend who people love and trust. You're good in social situations and want to fit in. Just be careful not to compromise who you are to make them happy.

Your saturation level is medium - You're not the most decisive go-getter, but you can get a job done when it's required of you. You probably don't think the world can change for you and don't want to spend too much effort trying to force it.

Your outlook on life can be bright or dark, depending on the situation. You are flexible and see things objectively.

Email me with your own results.
